MARKS FOR EUGENE RICHARD AND GILDER'S f.mi. MARKS, THE CUP INCISED Al MG AND 35-11, THE SAUCER WITH GILDER'S M MARK, INCISED ly 24-7a d Iu AND WITH GREEN SCRIPT 23x,28.= Each painted with a band of garden flowers including rose, narcissus, cornflower, tulip and violet, the blue ground enriched with gilt and platinum palmettes and geometric pattern, lines and zig-zag ornament, the borders with a band of squares enclosing stars, the bulbous cup with a flared lip and high foliate handle with matt and burnished gilding and moulded palmette terminal, the interior richly gilt (slight wear to well of saucer) Eug?ne Richard was a painter at S?vres from 1833 to 1872.
