A DIRECTOIRE ORMOLU, T?LE AND PORCELAIN-MOUNTED MANTEL CLOCK the ormolu dial signed Rue Noveda ? Marseilles with Roman numerals set within a basket case with handles, topped with a bouquet of porcelain flowers and held by winged putti on a rectangular base with rounded sides mounted with flower wreaths with crossed arrows on flattened beed bun feet. The bouquet possibly a later replacement. CATALOGUE NOTE An identical model with an enamel dial is preserved in the palace of Tsarskoe Selo, Russia, and is illustrated in George Loukomski, The Palaces of Tsarskoe Selo, Furniture and Interiors, London, 1987, p. 76, fig. 1.
